Blank had written to the Region complaining about the dumping. The committee was established to act as a forum for the exchange of information on Lasco's proposed berm. Durham .Reion's operations manager, Art Leitch, told The Free Press that the leachate had been tested prior to dumping and was within acceptable standards. Blank, however, is now await- ing resuits of tests on the lea- chaLe as it was being dumped. He 'said CARA's position on the liaison committee may depend on a ruling by regional council on bylaw 76-89 which covers sewer discharge.
