Honorary chairman for 1989, Sherry Bassin, manager of the Oshawa Generals, said the goal for the fundraiser is $25,000. Last year's goal of $17,000 was exceeded b y $3,000, and Bassin expressed his hopes that this year's campaign would be just as successful. The campaign will begin with a Celebrity Day Kick-off-on Feb. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. At this event, mayors and council members fromn Oshawa and Whitby Dur- ham Region public school oard trustees, Little Brothers paired with members of the Oshawa Generals hockey teami, Big and Little Brother pairs and the media, including a team from the Whitby Free Press, will be bowl- ing for the celebrity team award (Terry Kelly Cup), and individual and pairs awards.
