The blizzard was so fierce the snow was three feet deep. The icicles were 50 LARGE they were almost touching the ground. The niachinery which made the toys had frozen over with ice and snow. There were oniy three toys made. One of the elves rushed- up to Santa and said, "Santa we have only three toys m ade." "Oh no, " said Santa. «We are goinjg to have to make sixty catri I ion toys by hand." Just then another elf rushed in from the reindeer barn. "Santa," he' cried, "It's Rudolph. He's sick.» Santa dropped everything and rushed to take Rudolph's temperature. '1« "Oh dear! His temperature is 105 F," groaned Santa. "Cali the Doc." But the doctor couid not be reached and Santa's other doctor was on the other side of the world and couldn't get to the p oie on time. So Santa told the elves to get a cold cloth to cool Rudolph off. The elves gave Rudolph some cool drinks and went off to finish the toys. The elves knew they would need lots of help so they decided to phone Up their elf fr-iends and the elves called up their elf friends and very soon Santa had 60 billion elves knocking at the door. In no time at ail, the toys were made. With ail the worry about the toys Santa had forgotten his sick friend Rudolph. A few hours later Santa went to see Rudolph and check his temperature. It was 100 F. Santa said to Rudoplh, "You're getting much better." Then Santa's wife came out of their house and said, "Nick this will make Rudolph better." Santa said,, "A hot water bot- tle?" "Yes," said Mrs. Claus. "Put it on Rudolph's feet." "Okay," said Santa but I think MIl add a bit of magic too and 50 herplled a bag out of his pocket and sprinkled some pixie dust over Rudolph. Quickly Riudolp h sprang to his feet and said,"I eel great. By the time the seigh was packed Rudolph was ship-shape and the toys were glistening and shiny new. Everything was now ready for Santa's big ride. Off the teami sprang with a flash and a ho-ho-ho fromn old St. Nick. By Jeff Giles, Jason Rinaldi, Jody Roberts andl Eddie Carter.
