Farewell and Dan Bainard of Pringle Creek had first-place firishes as the Durham Region elementary school cross country championhips wiere held last week at Dagmar Ski Resort. Van Patter, the Ontario junior girls' champion, will practice with the world class Chinese teani, as will Ross Smith of Ajax,' also Onta rio junior champion. 1Van Patter, Smith and the Chinese teamn will compote in the Canadian Open in Calgary, Alta., Nov. 3 to 6.
