Twenty-five golfers who had a hole-in-one during the summer were invited te the, event along witb il other golfers whose naines were drawyn froin a bat. Ail golfers were members of the Ontario Publie Links Golf Association. 0f the 36 invited, 33 participated. Any of the golfers shooting. a hole-in-one would receive a $1-million prize. Second prize, an Oldsmobile Outlass, was for the golfer next closest to the bole. Third- prize was a'tnip for two te Bermuda. Abbey qualified by sbooting a hole-in-one at at Mill- Run golf course in Uxbridge.
