Lemon discussed ways, such as window dressings, to attract business and thus revitalize the downtown core, and strategies to keep the business going. "The key is to zero in on a market, then your product," Lem- on sai d. He said the next. steps are to identify competitors, define the nimarket,. make 'a list of business and personal goals, and think about how to achieve objectives. "Retailing really evolved 120 to 130 years ago, when many retailers pa.id close attention to competition, and bought for sale only what people wanted," Lemon said.
