'We're folowing the guidelines for public participation programs," said Deeth. "We received 17 responses out of 4,000 (information packets sent out), and that's average. LASCO feels we need more responses from people, and we will be having an open bouse in October." "Our policy has been complete openness, and we want you (the public) here," he said. With tests proceeding the way they have thus far, Deeth expects either an approvai. or hearing in the spring of 1989. 'The public has lots of time. We're not pushing this through," said Deeth. "The ratepayers wanted the (experimental) bermn." The berm is a means for the disposaI of car shredder' waste created in the processirîg of cars for use in steel production.
