Volunteers neededto teach English Volunteers are needed to teach English to immigrant parents and pre-school children in Whit- by and Oshawa, starting in September. Training sessions are provided and volunteers are supervised by qualified staff. No previous training is required The free classes take place in Whitby on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at St. Mark's United Church, 201 Centre St. S. Oshawa classes will be 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Centennial Church, 19 Rosehill Blvd. Registration will be -Tuesday, Sept. 6 and Thursday, Sept. 8 at St. Mark's United Church, bet- ween 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., and at Centennial church, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Classes will run for 32 weeks. Volunteers will teach in the adult progran and assist in the children's program. Child care is also available for the children of teachers as well as students.
