Brunelle, responding to a letter from Jacky Bramma' that appeared in the June 29 issue of The Free Press (noting that residents have to go outside Whitby to take part in Canada Day celebrations) asked the parks and recreation department to report on ways Whitby can celebrate Canada Day. "Canada Day is important to this community and country. We could hoId fireworks or a Canada Day bash," said Brunelle. But regional councillor Tom Edwards noted that one 'area in Whitby does have a Canada Day celebration - Ashburn. "The people of Ashbumn ha,", established a fun day.
