Bray, president of the NWhtby prograxn for five years, b as accepted the position of secretary for the Ontario Block Parent board of directors. "After -ive years in this position, Thickson' fire station addition is approved An addition to the fire station on Thickson Rd. N. at a cost of $302,00 bas been approved by Whitby council.* The addition will provide more space for future vehicles and equipment, living quartera, a kitcben/diming area, a lounge and dormitory. The low tender was siubxitted by Eainbow Construction 86 Ltd. of Willowdale. Th#e construction will cost $343,O0O - .$30,00 for contin- gencies and $11,000 for design of the addition. The Town had. budgeted $320,000 for the' work. Council has agreed toe take the extra $23,000 frcm the devlopment reserve fund. Two charged with.possessioni A Whitby mani and a Marmora mani have been charged with possession of a restricted drug and possession for the purpose of tralffcking after Durham Region Police spotted a man; running from a pick-up truck, in Ajax last Thursday morning. Officers were on patrol wben they îsaw the man run from the truck. He attempted to bide behind a steel bin. Police found a second man hiding inside the bin. .When the officers checked the truck they found a quantity of LSD and hash oil along 'with a load of scrap aluminuni. Along with the possession charges, John Bossio, 23, of 987 Dundas St. E., WhitbY, and Donald Laverdue, 22, of River Garden Dr. in Marmora, are charged with theft under $1,000.
