The Brock first team went undefeated in five -contests, including a 10-6 decision over Oshawa I and an 8-3 decision over Oshawa II, to capture the championship. Brock defeated Toronto Welsh 11 4-0 in the thrilling final, scoring in the final stages of the gaine. Oshawa I defeated Barrie twice, 13-0 and 18-0, to reach the quarter-finals. Bilan Watts and Dan Player each scored a try in the 13-10 victory while Tony Squarcitto had a penalty ick and convert. Stuart Craig, Watts and Jeif Lemon each had a try in the second gaine with Squarcitto adding three converts. Oshawa I then defeated Mark. ham 16-3 as Paul Connelly, Craig Ewing and Ron Balcom had trys and Mike Clayton two converts. Toronto Welsh II beat Oshawa I110-0 in the semi-final. Oshawa II, the surprise of the tournament, opened with a 12-0 win over York County on trys by Andy Finn and Eric Ryan and two converts by Ian Thompson. Oshawa II then lost a. close battle with Brock 10-6, Thompson getting two penalty kicks. But the team rebounded to edge Lindsay 9-8 to reach the semi- finals. Thompson took care of the offence with three penalty kicks. In a remnatch, Brock again proved too strong for Oshawa II in the semni-final, defeating the home team 8-3. Thompson again accounted for aIl the scoing for Oshawa II with a penalty kick.
