Redmen get grant to defray costs* The Mann -Cup lacrosse champion Broolin Redinen will receive a $1,500 grant from the Town of Whitby to help offset transportation costs the club incurred while competing in, the Manin Cup national championship in, British Columbia last September,; The Redmen won the cup when they defeated the New Westminster Salmoribellies in a Moore, Palmateer win pairs. P eggy Moore' and Judy Palmateer of the Whitby ,Y Badminton Club defeated another Whitby club pair to win the ladies, C final in the Oshawa-Durham tournament Feb. 20-21. Runner-up iný the mixed doubles B round was the Whitby team of Francis and Helen Kwan.
