Free Press photo '.Breakaway' group -expands By EMILY PARE- Every week, women "Breakaway" to create crafts, exercise and discuss topies from the Bible. Two new "Breakaway" programs in Ajax and Whitby at White Oaks bring the total of mem- bers to approximately 45 or more, including members in Brooklin.. "The programs just naturally blossomed," says Judy Stogios, coordinator of the program. Stogios and Susan Fraser brought the idea of 'Breakway' frorn Windsor, where it originated. It is. a ladies interdenominational Christian Bible discussion group. The, two-hour programallows women to come together in mem- ber's homes during Tuesdays and Wednesdays. During the first hour members make grape vinery, quilted pictures, wall haugings and manyI other "newcrçift ideae that the women think of togeth er. " Or the ladies participate in exercises. The second hour is devoted to Bible discussion. "We take certain verses from the Old and New Testament, and find topies that relate to our society- today," says Stogios. There is also a 'Tiny Tots' program, so that when mois at a 'Breakaway' meeting, a babÙy--str is provided fôr children activities. There are also leadiership meetings at which members discuss the agenda of the* programs.; "We are really excited about Breakaway and always welcome new members," she says.
