Bine boxes to be delivered About 14,000 blue boxes to be used in the region-wide recycling program should be delivered to Whitby households »during late November and early December. The Region of Durham has asked the Town ofr Whitby to deliver the boxes. Operations committee agreed to the request Monday night, despite some hesitancy by staff. "During this period of the year the weather is rather uncertain and we would prefer flot to have to tie up two trucks and employees for approximately a week and a hall' to deliver these boxes, but. there does flot seem to be any other alter- native,"' states a report from the public works department. The boxes will only be delivered to urban areas as well as Brooklin. Myrtie, Myrtie Station, Ashburn and possibly Macedonian Village. Durham Recycling Centre decides where the boxes go. The department has estimated it, will cost the Town $5,000 to deliver the boxes which residents can f iii with recyclable material for pick- up when the program begins later this year. 15er
