One 0f Elvis Presley's many aileged illegitimate sons will be gyrating bis way onto the stage at Iroquois arena next, Tuesday, hoping to* sway the audience into believing bis dlaim to fame. "There are some skeptics out there, " says Elvis Aaron Presley Jr., who estimates that about 15-20 per cent of the expected 1,000 viewers wlll consider hlm a fakte. "But the rest are ail believers. On- ce tbey've seen the show, and heard the' music, it's ail dowiiil from there." Elvis Jr., who dlaims to be the product of a relationsbip that thé 'real' Elvis had witb a show girl in, Indiana, says. he is "bimself" during bis performances, and per- forms bis own original songs as weil as top 40 hits. J'an and Dean here- next week Jan and Dean wii be performing at the Iroquois arena on Friday, Aug. 28 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the Iroquois Park pool desk for $12.50. Refreshments available. The concert is a fun- draisin$ project of the Rbapsody on Ice skating team of Ontario. The final phase of the show is a tribute to Elvis Presley, whicb commences with Elvis Jr. mysteriously materializing out of a life size oùl painting of 'the king', and continues with a medley of Elvis bits. "Tbat's the part of the show that wiI give people wbo reaily love Elvis goose pimples," says Dave Spencer, an associate of Elvis Jr. .Born in Indiana in 1961, Elvis Jr. was adopted by a circus family, and by age 5,. he landed bis first job as a clown. Tbrougbout his youtb, he says he was unaware of who bis real father was, but when he was introduced to Elvis Presley backstage in 1976, be says he feit idreaily strong vibes" and "la real closeness" with the singer. When he was finaily told of his relation to Presley at age 21,, he says be was s0 sbocked he "nearly crawled under the table." .Altbough Elvis Jr. bas a home base in Toronto, he usuaily resides on a ranch in Las Vegas which he cohabitates with exotic animaIs in- cluding a black panther and a' leopard. Elvis Jr. wiil be playing in arenas across Ontario, and bas toured the UAS, Mexico and South America, altbough be admits he' is still not weil-known by the general public. "lWere starting slowly," says the 26-year-old singer who sports jet- black hair and long side-burns as his aileged father did. "It's taking a long time before people can get to know a person.
