One of the longest serving employees of the hospital, he star- ted as an electrician when it opened in December 1969, and became superintendent in 1974. Over the years he bas built on his experience at the hospital by reading tecbnical manuals and journals, and attencling, seminars. Hoehne's responsibilities include management- of building and grounds maintenance. He is also responsible for hospital security. His staff consists of a ground em- ployee, -two fuil-time and three part-time security staff and three, maintenance engineers. The site of the bospital consists of 16 acres, most of wbich is grass, witb the rest occupied by the building and parking lots. Within the bospital, there are 94,000 square feet of floor space, and Hoehne knows every square foot of it. For grounds maintenance, the hospital owns all the equipment necessary for grass cutting in the summer and snow removal in the winter. Over the years, the maintenance broke down in the middle of winter.
