Obituaries J(INLEITCII P<)TTER John Leitch Potter of Oshawa died July 19, 1987, at Kirkland Lake, Ont. he was in his 37th year. A former Oshawa-Whitby resident, Mr. Potter was a truck driver for- MacCoshan Van Lines. He was a member of the Preshytérian Church. He was horn in Armadale, Scotland, on January 28, 1951, son of James and Janet (Leitch. Pot- ter. He married Jane Ann Fraser on Oct. 4, 1986. He is survived by his wife, son Jeremy and daughter Krysta; father James; sisters Annie (Mrs. Robert Graham) and Agnes (Mrs. Brian Dick.>; two nieces and three nephews, in Scotland; niece Janet and nephews Jimmy and Scott of Kirkland Lake. He was predeceased by his mother. The funeral was held Wednesday, July 22 from the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel in Whitby, Harry Inkpen officiating. Interment at Groveside Cemetery. MARY ELEANOR GASKIN Mary Eleanor Gaskin of Whitby died at her home on July 3, 1987, in her 70th year. The longtime Whitby resident was horn on April 20, 1918 at Halls Bridge (Buckhorn) in Peter- borough County, daughter of John A. and Christina (King) Edwards. She married Thomas James Emerson (EdW Gaskin on Oct. 7, 1944. Mrs. Gaskin was an active com- munity resident, as a member of the Historical Society, Ontario Humane Society, Foster Parent program and Children's Aid Society receiving home). She also belonged to the Easter Rebekah Lodge in Pickering, Benevolent Rebekah in Whitby, Orange Lodge <Victory 583 LOBA and True Blue Lodge), and Ail Saints Anglican Church, including the church's afternoon groùp. She was a volunteer at Whitby General Hospital. formerly Joseph L. Rud- dy, Hospital. and sèrved with the Canadian Armhy Active, during WQrld War-Il.. She formerly resided in French-' man's Bay and in Toronto. She is survived by her husband, daughters Beverly Ann (Mrs. W. Emmerton>, Donna Marlene (Mrs. Jerry Richard> and Lynda Arlene <Mrs. John Staples.>, son John David Gaskin and eight gran- dchildren. Predeceased by her parents and brothers Hector and Percy. The funeral service was held from the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel in Whitby and All Saints Anglican Church on July 7, 1987. Rev. Charles Bull off iciated.
