Nieuwendyk recognition night A recognition night will be held for Joe Nieuwendyk, Friday, July 3, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Heyden- shore Pavilion. Nieuwendyk, who played for the Calgary Flames for part of the 1986- 87 hockey season, returned home to Whitby on Tuesday after finishing his year at Cornell University. Anîong those expected to attend Whitby, who also played with the Calgary Flames and members of the Corneli team.
