A total of nine skaters from the Zodiac club competed iný Cam- bridge. It was learned as of press time for last week's edition that two other Whitby skaters, the Bayfordý brothers who skate for an Aurora club, won gold in Cambridge to aLso qualify for the Canadian finals, Tender to, be re-called .It's back to the drawing board on a tender for roof work at both the Centennial building and the Spen- cer community centre in Whitby. The only tender the Town recen- tly received was alxnost 100 per cent more than the estimated cost. Staff had estimated the cost to the buildings at $38,500. (Centennial building, $30,000; Spencer com- munity centre, $8,500). But the tender received was for $6094. The high price is being blamed on confusion with specifications in the tender. Staff will redo the specifications then bring them back- for council's approval. Redmien FROM PAGE 20 Replying for Thistles were Pete Pavlenich, Tom Howe and Brad House. Redmen built up a 4-0 lead in the first. period. before Thistils Pavlenich put his squad on the boards with 1: 01 left in the opening frame. Not content to sit on their lead, Redmen peppered i four straight goals, the first two on 'a powerplay, to sit on top of a 10-2 score at the end of 40 minutes of play. il CALL DISTRIBUTION 668-61-11, THE CLASSIFIEDS are the-answer to AUTOS e HOMES' and everythîng you -might want ta SELI or BUY CAIL 668-6111 - Whitby Free Press Il
