LETTER No daffodils FRQM PAGE 6 fects of sickness and loss of hair. This treatment is having wonder- ful results - there are no negative vibes at the Falk Clinie. People are dealing with their problems and facing the future with courage and optimism. Wanda Martin (whose smiling face we all miss at Whitby Dominion Hardware) has been driving into this clinic six -times a month for almost a year. She knows some patients well, shares their positive medical outlook, but also knows the desperate financial problems that many are facing with medical bills in the thousands of dollars. There is no financial assistance whatsoever from OHIP or the Can- cer Society for this kind of tFeat- ment. It is considered experimental even though it has produced suc- cessful results over a period. What do you do when your savings are gone? Why is there no financial help from OHIP or the Cancer Society? Why isn't there recognition for a treatment that has proven successful? Why can't can- cer research funds be useca in tns direction? And the bottom line, where will the money come from to continue treatment that is saving your life? Many questions. Are there an- swers? Anyhow, I'il pass on the daffodils this year.
