There are over 1,400 block parents in tbe Wbitby and Brooklin ares but according to Block Parent Association secretary Carol Aniero, that figure lan't very sub- stantial when you con- aider the population of Whitby and Brookia. But whiie the association la aiways accepting new members and recruiting la on- going, volunteers are aiso needed Lo go int the schools and educate students on the role of the Block Parent in our society. To celebrate the Block Parents (diamond) an*- nlversary and hopefully entice a few volunteers, the association set up a dispiay booth in the Wooico Mai liast Friday and Saturday. Along with Amero, Debbie Bennett, secretary of tbe association was also at the booth where the two ladies answered questions and distributed materiai about the association. They aiso handed out suckers and colouring sheets to the younger set. She also said that the association la looking for volunteers to go inla kindergarten classes and give puppet shows.
