A PROGRESS REPORT FROM THE PRESIDENT Mr. Anthony Lang President Tije Ltd. After many years of planning I am pleased to announce the creation of a new landmark in our Town of Whitby. This new landmark will include the original Whitby Mall Shopping Centre, the new additional indoor shopping contours and the Lang Tower Office Complex above. The project is nearing completion with a Grand Opening anticipated in the early summerof 1986. The many new stores under the skylight of the new mall will include a fashion oriented area with ladies wear, mens wear, jewellery and shoe store, and a Saan's Department store, as well as a much improved large banking facility. In addition, there will be a full service optical store, an optomitrists office and A & A Records. Masterdown Bedding Centre, Submarine Fair, South Mill Deli and Whitby Camera -Centre, which provides a one hour photo service, are already completed and open. Miracle Foodmart will be enlarged and completely modernized and redesigned to provide a comfortable shopping atmosphere for the patrons. The store is curren- tly open 24 hours a day. Super X Drug Mart will be relocated to a larger store near the main entrance to enable them to serve the public seven days a week. The Lang Tower Office Complex will provide many new jobs to the Whitby com- munity with far reaching ecpnomic benefits to the town. The existing merchants are preparing their stores to provide upgraded service to the shoppers. The free standing Arby's Restaurant now provides early breakfast and is open till 4 a.m. daily. The McDonald's free standing restaurant has additional seating capacity. Both restaurants feature a drive-thru facility and McDonald's is currently upgrading its drive-thru facility to provide even faster service. The Whitby Mall Restaurant & Tavern keeps its doors open six days a week and open at 7 a.m. for breakfast to 11 p.m. for your late dining pleasure. Seignor Franco's Italian Restaurant has been enlarged to accommodate more patrons. Both Andrew's Shoes and Kameka Footwear have refurbished their stores. We wish to thank the many shoppers for their patronage and patience during the renovations and construction and look forward to serving you in our newly im- proved facilities.
