FASHION SHOW On Sunday, March 23, A Spring Benefit Fashion Show and Lun- cheon will be held at Krebs Restaurant at 918 Brock St. N. at 12:30 p..Tefashions are by Garbo's Boutique of Whitby and proceeds from this Fashion Show taxpayers who are not members of "special in- terest" groups to take an active role as an ad- visory group. Maybe the "special interest" groups, and other organizations, com- panies, and individuals, should be invited to par- ticipate in the funding of a complex. I think the principle is known as - put your money where your mouth is. As a taxpayer I am appalled that one quar- ter of my income taxes already go for interest on government debt, I cannot understand how any elected official today could recommend taking the same route to fiscal ruin just for the sake of a recreational facility. Today's economy, and tax struc- ture, dictates that if you do not have to buy it then do not go into debt paying for it. The tax- events calender and Luncheon will be donated to Fairview Lodge, Home for the Aged. Tickets are $15 and are available at Garbo's VOLUNTEERS NEEDED The Auberge Shelter' for abused women and their children is seeking volunteers to assist with day and evening support programs. SPRING GALA 86 The Oshawa Sym- phony Association will be hosting a fund raising event entitled 'Spring Gala 86' on Friday, March 21.at Trafalgar Castle in Whitby. The evening will in- clude dining and dan- cing, and will feature a special performance by classic guitarist, Liona Boyd, accompanied by members of the Oshawa Symphony Orchestra.
