With the highways in less than perfectcon- dition between Whitby and Gananoque due to a major winter storm, only seven players were available for the opening, and nine for the semi-final and final games. In the opening match, Vick Insurance, with the addition of three local area players, walloped West Carleton by a score of 12-2. Scoring for Whitby were Mike Williams with three, Steve Wing, 2 and Brian Duff. In the semni-final game, Whitby bested Stirling by a 4-2 count. Dave Clarke, Sean Whitehead, Duff and Williams scored the Whitby goals. In the championship game, Gananoque broke the game open ini the third period, scoring four goals on route to a surance scorers were Wîng, Williams and Whitehead. It was a very produc- tive weekend for Julie Leswick of Whitby Iroquois Swim Club at the Esso Youth National Championships held in Etobicoke. Julie placed 5th in the 50 free, th in the 100 free, and l6th in 100 fly.
