W., TOROINTO 1 Whiitby hosts eastern skaters The Eastern Canadian Divisional skating competition, held at Whitby's Iroquois Park Arena and Vipond Arena in Brooklin, lived up to the expectations of the host committee of the Whit- by Figure Skating Club last weekend. The conipetition featured 150 skaters from clubs in Central and Eastern Ontario and Quebec. The win- ners in each of the il events will be eligible to skate at North Bay, On- tario, where the Canadian Figure Skating Championships will be held in February. Approximatley 4,000 spectators watched the Novice, Junior and Senior skaters perform. The Whtby-Oshawa area was represented by Susan Amman and Scott O'Neill of the Whitby Club and by Joanne Kitras, Lisa Maddock and Robert Mullaney of the Oshawa Figure Skating Club. -For anyone unfor- tunate enough, not to see the competition, Rogers Cable will be showing the Senior. events on Channel*10 Cablecast.
