The parade is organized by the local Junior Chamber of Commerce. For the last few' years, the Jaycees have presented a 45-foot trailer with a horse and sleigh but they're open to new ideas as to how the float could change. CRAFT SALE For early Christmas shopping, the Immanuel Christian School is holding a craft sale on Saturday, Nov. 30 from il a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school at 849 Rossland Rd. W. in Oshawa. There'll be a fine selec- tion of woodwork, knit- ting, ceramics, sewing, doll clothes. silk flowers, hand painting, glass etching and much more. There will also.be a lunch room, a game room for children and a bookshop. REDUCED POSTAL RATE Canada Post has an- nounced a special rate of 32 cents for Christ- mas cards mailed within Canada when postage is bought in special 10-stamp booklets for $3.20. The booklets are available at all post offices and substations. There are no special breaks for Christmas cards to the U.S., however, and all cards - whether for Canada, the U.S. or abroad -- must have sealed envelopes. DANCE The Whitby Professional Firefigh- ters are holding their annual Christmas dance on Saturday, Dec. 7. This dance is being held at the Heydenshore Pavilion on Water St. in Whitby. The dance commen- ces at 8 p.m. and con- tinues to 1 a.m. The cost is $25 per couple and in- cludes a hot buffet. There are spot prizes, also door prizes. There are also bar privileges. DANCE On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Durham Dutch Canadian Club will be holding a Sint Nikolaas Dance at the Club Loreley on Dean Ave. in Oshawa. Mrs. Simpson's work will be showing in the library auditorium. In the lobby, throughout December, will be a display of replica ships built from blue prints by Whitby residents Paul Bugelli and his gran- dson Raymond Galt.
