Some activities planned for the school year are cross-country skiing, winter camping, swimming and canoe practice and a four day Algonquin canoe trip in May. The year looks like an exciting one for the Outer's club members. On the sport scene, the cross-country team had 19 runners par- ticipating in COSSA, which was held on Oct. 24. The team braved the cold and rain to place extremely well. Donna Petri placed foufth and qualified for OFSAA, the Ontario Championship, in the midget girls' division. Jason Gurd, in the midget boys race, ni.mrnneouth. In the senior girls' race, senior girls' race, Heather Petri placed sixth. Both of these run- ners will act as alter- nates for OFSAA. The junior girls' basketball team have also competed ex- tremely well over the past few weeks. They have proved to be aggressive and defen- sive. The team worked diligently to improve the overall shooting percentages. The quar- ter final playoffs are to be held on Nov. 19. The course involved cycling and running, covering 5 km for female and 8 km for male participants. Each entry received the official Anderthon Badge displaying the raider and school colors. A barbeque followed the race where the winners of each category received special recognition. Of special importance to the senior students are the university seminars. Students will be given valuable in- formation about finan- cial aid and scholar- ships as well as have their questions an- swered. A special in- formation evening is to be held Thursday, Nov. 7 for parents of those students who are ap- plying to university.
