A six-year member of I.T.C., MacDonald is a past president of the Whitby Club, which was char- tered on Feb. 14, 1980. SHIRLEY MACDONALD Her new duties will include general super- vision of the activities of the il clubs within Council Two, including membership, extension and public relations. Council two extends from Hwy. 10 in the west to Kingston in the East, with clubs in Oshawa, Pickering and Whitby. Plans are being for- mulated to start a daytime club in Ajax. Members of Inter- national Training in Communication (for- merly International Toastmistress Clubs) approved its new name at the 1984 convention in Dallas, Texas. I.T.C. includes im- proved communication and leadership skills, organizational techni- ques and regular evaluation of perfor- mance. Members set their individual goals and pace of par- ticipation and can voluntarily enter an ac- creditation program for each of five levels of study. Interested men and women are invited to the open meetings and can secure further in- formation -by calling 668-4817. Ambulance service calls During the week that ended at midnight last Thursday, the Whitby Ambulance Service responded to 100 calls for service. They responded to 21 calls of a routine nature and to 36 standby calls for other ambulance services in Oshawa and Ajax. The service also responded to 43 emergency calls, in- cluding five motor vehicle accidents. The number to call for ambulance service in the Town of Whitby is 723-5232.
