On Tuesday night, Whitby's strong offense led to a 2-0 win over Ajax. The first haif was ail Whitby as they dominated the play and scored two of their five goals. In the second haîf, Ajax's defense coilap- sed and except for some fine goaltenditfg on Ajax's part the score could have been much higher. In addition to strong offense, the Whitby side also put on an excellent defensive effort as the backfield successfuily thwarted Ajax's at- tacks. Scoring for Whitby were Roberto Aibis with three markers as well as singles frorn Sean Edwards and Shane Bevan. Mark Shoites earned the shut-out and Mike Nolson was named the game's M.V.P. Two days later the momentum continued as Whitby doubied Oshawa Italia 2-1. Although the first haîf of that effort was scoreiess, Whitby main- tained compiete control of the play. However, they had a ittle dif- ficuity putting the bal between the posts. The side kept control during the second haif but stili had trouble fin- ding the net. For- tunately, Whitby's backfield was on the bail and reduced Oshawa Itaiia's attack to a feebie threat. Finaily, as the haif was coming to a close Robert Aibis connected with two quick goals to ensure the win. Itaiia's only goal of the game and oniy shot on goal in the second haîf came on a penalty shot in the final minutes of the gaine.
