Most people don't think of magic as a scientific subject, but not these two young ladies from Anderson Collegiate. Laura Mullin (left) and Lori Scully (riglit), both 15-year old grade 9 students at the Whitby higli school researclied the subject as their entry into the Durhiam Region Science Fair which was held last week. Laura and Lori both expressed a great interest in magic and illusions. Althougli these two young ladies didn't win an award for their project, other Whitby students did quite well in the science fair which was organized by the Durham Board of Education. Durha'mCentre resident found dead in field The body of a resident of the Durham Cen- tre for the Developmentally Handicapped who went missing on March 23 was found last Tuesday morning in a farmer's field in the north end of Oshawa. It wasn't until last Wednesday morming that the Durham Regional Police were able to formally identify the body as that of Vern Green, a 65-year old resident of the Whitby facility for the developmentally handicapped. His body was found on the Bth Concession, one mile west of Simcoe St. N. Police do not know liow he got there but speculated that lie probably walked to that location. The cause of death was established as ex- posure and pnemonia. Coroner Dr. Peter Noble announced last week that no0 inquest will be held into his death.
