In representative team play: The novice Hideaway team beat Amherst in tournament play 6-2 on goals by Wayne Primeau, Paul Brooks (2), Jim Brown, Craig Talent and Mike Wayne. In their second game they defeated Brampton 6-4 on goals by Primeau (2), Brown and Paul Dillon (3). However, they lost their third game 4-1 to Wheatfield. Primeau scored the only Whitby goal. St. Catherines also outplayed and outscored Whitby, this time by a score of 4-2. Dillon and Primeau provided the Whitby offense. The Whitby Bantam Selects won their first game in the aIl Ontario playdowns against Chatham 5-4. This is a best-of-five series. In house league play: SQUIRT The Kings doubled the Nordiques 2-1 on goals by Mike MadilI and Mark Blimke. The sole response came from Kevin Graham. The Flyers edged the Black Hawks 5-4 on goals by Matthew Fleming (2), John bang, Brian Smith and Daniel Hutchings. Answering were Ian Nelson (3) and Jeff Denike. The Whalers and the Canadians fought to a 1- alI tie. Scoring for the Whalers was Tyler Derks while Steve Jedinak put the Canadians on the board. The Kings slid by the Oilers 2-1 on goals by Brad Oliver and Jeremy Schott. Responding was Darryl Lewis. Precision skating season ends By RICHARD DRABBLE Whitby Figure Skating Club ended its regular skating season Saturday with the second annual Junior Olympics, held at Iroquois Park Arena. The competition con- sisted of nine events in which over 100 children from the Canskate program took part. Following the corn- petition, medais and ribbons were presented to ahl the children. The "Bales" trophy, for best achievement in junior skating, was presented to Shelley Snowden and Maria McKinnon, and amateur "Coach of the Year' awards to Robin Baldwin and Stacey Knight.
