But aI the Georgian Motor Holel on Champlain Ave. (at the corner of Thornlon Rd. S.> in Oshawa, i's a place to, eat as well. Just prior ta Christ- mas, the hotel opened City Limita - its new dining louage and whlle they are stiil shaking out a few of the bugs it has the potential ta shape up into a realiy fine restaurant. 1 had lunch aI City Limits lasI week and mnust say that 1 was reasanably impressed wlth it. For starters, 1 tried their potato skins which were stuffed with an ample amnount of cheddar cheese and bacon. Saur cream you heaped on yourself. An excellent way ta start the meal. Far the entree, 1 tried their Englîsh style fish and chips which were slightly overdone but good ta, eat none-the- less. The menu at City Limnita offers no great surprises but wiII meet most people's taste. For appetizers they offer the soup of the day, garden salad and their platter which inicludes a salad boasting roast beef or ham, fruit and cottage cheese. Other starters include the previously men- tioned potato skins as well as potato wedges, onion rings, Mexican chili and deep fried breaded mushrooms. They also offer a selection of the now traditional finger foods including chicken fingers, burgers and an assartment of san- dwiches - everything from corned beef on rye ta westerns ta club bouse. Their dinner menu in- cludes such items as liver and anians, roast beef, New York sirlion, bar-be-qued ribs, park chops and veal cutiets. They alsa offer four seafood selections in- cluding surf and turf favorite), the above mentioned fish 'and chips a combination platter (filet of sole, shrimps, scallops ser- ved witb onion rings and fries) as well as breaded juibo shrimp. Af ter eating at City Limits, one can dance the night away aI Scully's Lounge right next door. Not only does Scully's offer dancing to ils own dise jockey every night of the week but they also have a giant videa sereen. Every Tuesday is ladies' night at Scully's where special entertaiflirent is featured - just for the ladies. Wednesday is talent night at Scully's and ac- cording ta hotel manager Lorraine DuPont, il can be a lot of fun. Georgian is "The Pub" a place, just to have a drink with friends and play pool, pinball games or shuffleboard. City Limita is open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. (for break- fast) to 8: 30p.m. For a night on the town, it could be just the place to start. U.E.L. The Upper Canada chapter of the United Empire Loyalista will celebrate Heritage Day an Feb. 18 at the Magic Car Restaurant, King St. W., Oshawa begin- ning at 8 p.m. There will be enter- tainment, games, prizes and refreshmnen- ts.
