Last-Friday, Antony Palleske (left), president of the Anderson Student Council and treasurer Erin Nelmaun (right) presented a Cheque for that amount to Mike Ambler (centre), chairman of the Whitby United Way campaign. The money was raised during Anderson's Penny Drive, an annual week-long fundraising venture. Yola Rzymski led the scoring with six points. The midget girls also played a strong game but lost to Dwyer by a five point margin. The junior boys soc- cer team ended a fine season with a defeat hi, Donovan. The boys played'a great game but lost 1-0. Congratulations hi the boys and their coaches, Mr. Whelan and Mr. Henry. Our ;a Saints Mass and the blessing of our school chapel was held on Thursday. Bishop Robert Clune was the celebrant and many of the priests from local parisheés were in atten- dance. Parent-teacher inter- views -are scheduled for the eveninga of Nov. 14 and 15. for Anderson students Since the beginning of the 1984/85 school year, the students of Ander- son Collegiate have been imvolved in many activities outside of everyday sehool cour- ses. Recently, a squad of rugby players from Broxbourne, England were hosted for three days by Anderson rugby players, as the flrst part of a two part exchange with England. Anderson Juniors played well, defeating Broxhourne 8- O in their winning mat- ch. More along the scholastic limes was a tour on Oct. 23, of Dr. J-0. Ruddy Hospital's laboratory, where some of Mr. Hutchinson's Grade 13 Biology students were able. to observe the varlous routine lab procedures.
