Smith, convenor of public relations on Oct. 24. Ten members answered the roll eaUý 'The most offensive commercial I see on T.V.' The convenor spoke briefly on the motto "World af- fairs are our affaira", stating that radio, T.V. and diynewspapers have made us aware of the needs and opportunities of. other countries. For the program, Mrs. Smith chose the part played by the W.W.I., especially in the eariy 1900, along with other orgamizations, building of a new If hgh school, medical and dental care in the schools, éestablhing a library and procuring the services of the VictorianOrder of Nurses, were but a few of the improvements of which the Women's Institute played a part. This information was secured from Dr. Kathleen Moorcroft's book "Character Building". Whitby Women's Institute are stili helping in the commuzuty with donations to the Durham Region Lung Association and Y.W.C.A. and -the Dr. J.O. Ruddy 'Hospital, as well as supporting institute projects - Erlanblee House and Museum, and the Adelaide Hoodless House, both owned by W.I. and supported by ail branches. Contest prizes W ere won by Mrs. K. Hepburn and Mrs. G. Carr. Hostesses, Mrs. Acton and Mrs. Mac- Carl served refreshments during the social hour. The next meeting of the W.W.I. wil be on Nov. 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Pringle. Visitors welcome. JOHN'S ANGLICAN SNOWFLAKE BAZAAR St. John's Anglican Church will hoid their bazaar on Nov. 24 in the church hall from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The bazaar will feature homemade candies November llth éexntii and chocolates, sewlng,' knitting, new and used books, baking and preserves, crafts, bake table, cabbage patch doîl clothes, novelties, kida corner, etc. The bazaar wil be opened by Lena Bird, a former member who now resides in Bobcaygeon. There will also be a tea room. NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH DeAngelo subdivision and surrounding area are making another effort to establish Neighbourhood Watch with in their area. Residents are asked to at- tend a short meeting on Monday, Nov. 19 or Tuesday, Nov 20 at St. Paui's School at 7:15 p.m. P.C. Jerry Dione wili be guest speaker, outlining the many advantagea of Neighbourhood Watch.
