He is one of almost 40 students from across Ontario who have been awarded entrance scholarships to St. Jerome's College which is federated with the University 0f Waterloo. "Greg has an enviable academic record in high school, " says college registrar Kevin Donelson. 1"He shows exceptional promise for university studies and we are pleased he bas chosen St. Jerome's. " St. Jerome's Coilege was founded in 1864 near St. Agatha, Ontario, ap- proximately 10 km West of Waterloo. In 1959, it was given degree gran- ting powers by the On- tario Legislature and thus changed its name to the University of St. Jerome's College. in 1960, it entered into federation with the University of Waterloo. Today, the College registers students in liberal arts and mathematics programs and degrees are con- ferred by the University of Waterloo, upon recommendation of the college. Breakdancing champions The "Second Generation" breakdance crew from Whitby delighted audiences at the Oshawa Knob Hill Farms store on the Civic Holiday Monday last week. The presented a 15-minute routine that had won thein first place in a competition held that morn.ing in Pickering. This victory is added to a recent Orillia competition win over 15 other crews and first place in their age category at another meet held in June in Oshawa. The "Second Generation" will be featured on the local cablecast channel on Aug. 14 and are currently appearing professionally at the Grenada Restaurant Sub Pub in the Pickering Sheridan Mail every Wednesday from 10Oto il p.m. The members of the crew are: Chris Noble, Jason Glaeves, Mark Blackburn, Rob Oliver, Grant Serra and Peter Law.
