The Peewees wil be going to the Canadian Minor Lacrosse Champion- ships in Owen Sound from August 13 to 20. The Cheekers Varlety bantam lacrosse team ended the regular season play with a home-and-home series with Scarborough. The. rteam finished the regular season in first place for Zone 6 of the OMILA. At Iroquois Park Arena, they won 10-2. Rob Paddick shone with 3 goals, 2 each by Julie Kernohanr and Chris Tueker and one by Derek Jones.' Cheekers -'.Variety were not too confident about the return game in Scarborough; they had flot won there yet this year and they had to - alup ýa few players from the Bantam No. 2 team to replace missing players. Fortunately these cail ups welcomed the challenge and the final score 'was 8-6 for the Whitby-Garrard Road team. Jason Ren- nick led with 4 -goals with singles by Mark Hidgen, Troyhann San- tos, Tucker and Jones. The WGR novice No. 2 team ended' their regular season at Iroquois Park Arena with a 9-4 win over Beaches No. 2 team. Whitby. opened the scoring quickly with goals from Derek Dixon- and Dwayne Allen (penalty shot). Ajax came back with a goal to shorten the gap. In the second hall it was ail Whitby with goals from Derek Dixon, Shane Bevan and Sean Heaney. On Aug. 2, Whitby Lakes , Wallpapers travelled to Peter- borough winning 5-2.
