Counciil Column fw I Submitted by members of WHITBY TOWN COUNCIL, By COUNCILLOR JOE DRUMM Chairman Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authorlty Suinmer bas at last arrived, and Thank God for its returu. Sunshine seemns to do good things to ail of our attitudes. The provincial government certainiy is keeping its word on the new GO-ALRT transit system- Brock St. is starting to change, and one can see on the south side of 401, between Ajax and Whitby, the new track site going down. A number of new residents bave complained to me about the 'shoddy workznanship' of driveway paving. It appears some paving compaies are teiling people that they have a contract with the Town, to pave tbat part of their driveway on the road allowance. No such agreement exista! I suggest that you first cail the Better Business Bureau before you sign on the dotted lie .. "Parka in Plans of Sub-Division". I have suggested to our planning people that parka should be sodded, and flot seeded. Havmng a jpark avallable, when people move i, la a heck of a lot better tIhAn having it some two years down the road. 1 have also suggested to council that in ail future plans of sub-diviaions, 'dead boit locka' be lnstalled on ail outside doors.
