This brings new people, new ideas and a new vibrancy to our community. In today's issues of the Whitby Free Press, we celebrate our progress and our growth as a community. In the following pages we try to relate the stories of these businesses thr oughout our area that are making continu ing contributions to oùr economic livelihood. ln tact the photograph above, of a General' Dynamics F-16 fighter, was used by the Gover- nment of Canada at a special trade show held in West Germany recently. The photograph, reproduced here, courtesy of Croven Crystals, shows the ,aircraft flying past a mountain of crystal which is turned into small diodes which control its radar and com- munications systems. These crystals are made in Whitby by Croven. The original is on display in the front lobby of Croven Crystals' Beech St. office. Our town is growing and business establishments portrayed over the next few pages are a part of that progress. whitby (Voice of the Cou nty Town) Wednesday, March 14, 1984 f zup m >Im uJ Rom" 1 III 1 y ý , f f ý A f m >Im W-ý
