A reported 6,400 toys collected in the drive - topping the original goal of *5,000 - were distributed to, 325 familes registered with the" Sixncoe Hall East- view Boys' and Girls' Club, and to an ad- ditional 300 familles - up 15 percent from 1983 - registered with the CKAR Toy Drive tops goal Salvation Army. CKAR wishes to thank Eaton's, Weall and Cullen Garden, Centre, GRS toy collection per- sons, Stepping Stones Nursery, St. Francis of Assisi School's Grade 8 clasa in Newcastle, several Boy Scout troops and Cub packs from Oshawa and Whlt- by, and everyone who dropped off toys to the varlous drop boxes in, the Durham Region. In support of the drive, inspirational Christmas entertain- ment was provided to the general public in the lobby of Oshawa's Revenue Building. First-year graphic ar- ts students at Durham College were involved with the drive through their efforts to design the CKAR Toy Drive poster. The poster design chosen for. the year was the creation of student, Gudran Haraldson.
