Dorothy Swait has been instrumental in helping raise more money for the addition to the Ruddy Hospital than any other individual we know. jDorothy- has visited numerous clubs and associations, outlining the need for a Continuous Care Ward at the hospital, and with the help of a projectionist, was able to show illustrative slides., Her Iatest venture was at the Scottish Club last week, procuring a $700 donation to the hospital fund. This is but one example, many more clubs and organizations have donated generously and Dorothy's enthusiam bas played a major role for the many donations. Tbrough her efforts, many thousands of dollars has been raîsed for the hospital. However, she doesn't stop there. She is a member of the Whitby Legion, Ail Saints Anglican Church, Historical Society. both Whitby and Oshawa, Whit- by Arts, Good Companions, Senior Citizens, Senior Actlvity Centre, Meals Wlthout Wbeels at the Knights of Columbus, and donates two afternoons in April in aid of the Cancer Society. Dorothy bas been numnber one salesperson for L.egion poppies and sides of beef,, and sold the most tickets for the Antique dlock for the Wbitby Historical Society, and calendars for the Historical Society, tickets for the Whitby Arts on an original Eskimo work of art and Marigold flowers for the senior citizens. Although arthritis has curtailed a few of ber more active activities, Dorothy is still very busy helping others. A super saleslady .. .a super person. Glen Stewart Co-Operative Play Sehool Glen Stewart Co-operative Play School invites all pre schoolers, aged 3 to 5 years, to open bouse on Dec. 7, 8 and 9, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Glen Stewart Club House, 201 Cabot Street, Oshawa. Ail children are invited to participate in al regular play school activities as well as Christmas crafts, stories, and songs. Whitby Women's Institute The December meeting of the Whitby Women's Institute will be held on Dec. 14 at the home of Dorothy Gregor. The topic - 'Christmnas'. Westminster United Church Special Services On Dec. 18 at il arn. a White Gift Service will be held. Also on Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. a Candelight Carol Service will be held. 'On Dec. 25 at il a.m, there will be a Christmnas Worship and Communion. Study to be Done on Iroquois The Town Council of Whitby bas authorized a feasibility study on the Iroquois Park Recreational Complex located at Victoria Street and Henry Street in Port Whitby area. The Feasibility Study Team, conducted by Gene Monteith and Associates i co- operation with the Town's Staff' Commit- tee, wii investigate the need or demand for par- ticular faciities at Iroquois Park. The Study Team wiil con- duct a'community sur- vey and meet with local community and special interest groupe. The Town encourages everyone who receives the survey through the mail to co-operate by answering the questions and returming the questionnaire. Residents who wish to get involved may attend public meetings whieh wiil be advertised through local newspapers. Ail questions or con- cerns may be directed to the Director of Parks and Recreation, Mr. Wayne DeVeau. Toy Drive a Success CKAR held their l6thAnnual ToyDrive last Wednesday. Santa, Dan Willmott, morning announcer at CKAR, and bis elf, Eric Hollo, evening an- nouncer at CKAR, raced througb the isles of Eatons Toyland department, to gather four shopping carts of toys i 60 seconds.
