Because of the nation-wide economic downturn that bas challenged our growth, this is a period of timne for us to reassess our role in shaping our future. Whitby wilI see possibilities for positive, produc- tive growth if we work together within the region and province to cultivate an atmosphere condusive to the continuai attraction of desired growth and in- vestments. Whitby is fortunate to have the people who live in town who can mold that type of community. Tomorrow night (Thursday) should see our town budget completed. This budget allows for us to bet- ter ourselves in 1983, yet keep the impact below five per cent. ONE PARENT MEETING One Parent Families Association of Canada, Oshawa Chapter, meet at the Lake Vista Club House at Cedar Street on Emerald Avenue every Tuesday at 8 p. m. FIRST AID COURSE St. John Ambulance, Whitby branch, are holding a standard first aid course with registra- tion-on Jan. 18. The course starts Jan. 25 and runs for eight conse- cutive weeks.
