This has been a long- term projeet of the real estate board. As late as last spring a delegation from the real estate board met with the pro- vincial treasurer, Frank Miller, Wo press for an extension of the GO Unme to Oshawa. "The 250,000 citizens of Durham will be well- served by the system of public transportation," says George Van Dyk, president of the Oshawa and District Real Estate Board. "The new rail systern should make a positive impact on potential buy- ers from Toronto who, are looking for afford- able housing, " said Van Dyk. Efficient, accessable transportation may well be the final argument necessary to attract new buyers to our area. A check with local agen- ta confirms a large in- ventory of reasonably priced, well-financed properties on the mar- ket.
