Durham 'Regional Police are asking any- one with information about an August 7 bit and run robbery on Ash- burn Road in Whitby to cali police at 579-1520. The robbery resulted irw the death of Walter Clarke Major,.. 57, of Ashburn Road, who was dragged 400 feet by a van while tryîng to re- move the keys from the ignition.'« The only witness to the robbery is Stephen Clarke Major, 24, who is the son of the dead man. Stephen was hypnotiz- ed to provide police with a description of the sus- pect, who left the scene in a bine Chevrolet van. The suspect was des-« cribed as a white maie," between the ages' of 20 and 25, with red or blon- de hair and a slight beard. The suspect had a slim face, pointed nose, and a fair com- plexion. The van was des- cribed as a late model, blue Chevrolet, with a blue hood and no chrome. The vebicle had--a Chevrolet grill, which has three foot chrome squares. The front bumper was a fiat grey color. The last three num- bers of the van's. rear door licence plate may beOO 3. There is a white cur- tain or divider between the driver's seat, a cap- tà in's chair and a blue dash on the van.
