Shortly after midnlgbt on Saturday, a nurse at the hospital reported being bit and Ichoked in the Activities Building of the hospital. Police said tbe 28-year4od woman received abra- sions on ber forehead, and'was touched on ",parts of her body". Inx the second incident, a female patient report- ed being raped -shortly before noon on Sunday. A certified patient at the hospital bas been charged -witb assault causing bodily- harm, choking- and indecent assault in connection wlth the first Incident. The same man bas been cbarged witb rape in connection wlth the second incident. ,Police said warrants have been issued for bis arrest, but the suspect cannot be apprehended until he bas been releas- ed from the bospital. "As soon as be is re- leased, he'l1 be arrested on tbis warrant," police said. Otter Creek to get new- school Residents of Otter Creek will bave a neigh- borbood sehool by the fall of 1983 if everything goes as planned, Wbitby Trustee Ian Brown said Friday. "We hope to break ground by tbe end of Oc- tober (1982), "' said Brown, wbo reports that most of tbe preliminary steps have been taken to begin work on the sehool. Sketch -plans and -a building proposaI bave been approved by the Ministry of Education,, and tenders 'for the, general contracting bave been called. >Ail that remains is for, the Durham County Board of Educationý to award the contract, and final approval for, the project must, be given by tbe ministry. "The approval should be pretty routine," said- Brown, wbo estimates construction will -take between 35 and 45 weeks. But. he added a lot could bappen in the construction ,industry between now and then. Strikes and construction delays coutd make the opening as, late as Octo- ber, 1983.' Plans for a larger gyrnnasium, library and stage were approved by the Board, and the go- ahead' was given to in- clude lunch facilitie-s, additional lockers 'and storage space. Brown said tesidents of Otter Creek have been actively' pursuing tbe construction -0f a* neighborhoodschool for more than a year., In a letter*to the resi- dents, Brown said he sympathizes witb their "dconcern. and anxiety" after waiting patiently for several years for a .scbool.
