GARBAGE The Town of Whitby has decided to take over gar- bage collection in the North Ward and Corridor Area in November. The report, presented to council by the director of public works, had a few serious omissions pertaining to costs. The director of public works admitted that no cost estimate for dumping and spring and fall clean-up was included in his report, but that these costs were included in the submission by a private contractor. Only two of our councillors, Batten and Emm, picked out these flaws. It is comforting to know that two out of seven at least study staff reports. At the present time, the North Ward and Corridor enjoy an excellent service by a private contractor, and are billed accordingly on their taxes. Who knows what the future will bring. If two errors were found in the report, one wonders about the accuracy of the balance. "We all have a lot to share" will be the theme of*Senior Citizens' Week which will be held from June 14 to 19.
