Third trip to -Coach House was good Probably one of the nicest compliments a dining writer can re- ceive, is to be invited back for a second time. Weli during the past year, Joy and I have been back for seconds on severai occasions. This week hasto be the exception: we were in- vited to the Coach House on the west side of Whit- by for at least the third time. It was a lovely even- ing for both of us. Joy had French onion soup for starters, followed by tasty, beautiful back sparéribs. As usuai, I had my steak and baked potato, and it was again done to perfection. I ate every bit of it. Along with this, Paul Pappas-served his' best wine, and followed this with the usual which everyone ýgets with a dinner:- olives, $2,OOO raised The annual skate-a- thon held recently by the Brooklin and Dis- trict Kinsmen Club has raised close to $2,000. The event saw 60 young people colleet pledges and skate for charity at the Brooklin Memorial Arena. They skated for prizes in two categories - under-lO and over-lO. The prizes, which in- clude 10-speed bicycles, wili be presentedlte in the year. The funds raised will be used by the club in their various com- munity service vrojects. THE GREAT WALL, hot French bread, diii pickles and small sau- sages done in a'tasty sauce on a burner right at youx table. As usual, both of us enjoyed the meal very much and came away feeling, not onlythor- oughly satisifed with the meal, but also the at- mosphere and the decor. As it happened, two acquaintances of many years were sitting at the next table. They toid us that they often eat at the Coach House, because they enjoy the food, the prices and the atmos- phere. The Coach House may be small ilb size com- pared to other restaur- ants in Durham Region, but many of- the others couid take a lesson from this one. Paul and Jim Pappas of the Coach House have built a very solid reputa- tion with the dining public in Durham Region for serving the very best in food and reasonable prices. T4iis is one of the reïgons we have to, in ail honesty, recommend the Coach House as one of the bet- ter places to dine in this area. After visiting about 47 dining spots in the Oshawa-Whitby- Ajax-Pickerinig area during the past year, we can say~ the Coach House is one' of our favourites. Aside from the good food, the at- mosphere is conducive to simply plain dining conversation, business or -if you happen to like candielight ... even romance. SLoýok at the adver- tisement in this issue for the Coach House and pick out the specialty you happen to like.. they have a different one for each night. Con- sider the prices too!
