Port Perry Bulletins By Barbara Vansickleri THE ENVELOPE PLEAe!!! This week's column is for the kids. The resuits of the Christmas contest are in and prizes wilI be sent out within the next three weeks. First place was won by 12-year-old Marilyn Brooks of Whitby. She has won $15. Second place, $10 cash, was won by 7-year-old Robin Atherton of Raglan. The following are the winning stories. First Place: "I would like to join your contest about "What is Christmass". I feel Christmas is a very special time of year. Christmas day is Jesus's birthday and after ail that is why we have Christ- mas. The only thing is people usually forget what the real meaning is. Next 1 would like the same things other kids do, like being with my family and playing our new games and histening to the Christ- mas music. I like to hear my mom in the kitchen fixing our Christmas dinner. I like to walk through our house and have the smell of our real Christmas tree and our dinner cooking. Christmas is a very special to because it seems like our family is even dloser than usual." Second place: "I'm Robin Atherton. I'm 7 years old. I think Christmas is a time when people are happy and give presents to each other on Jesus bir- thday. We sing songs. Our Grandmas and Grand- pas and friends corne over to visit us and have din- ner. At Christmas it makes you want to give presents to people you love. Christmas is the only time people only think about Jesus. It is a very hap- py tme." CHRISTMAS CRAFTS For those of you who can'±t find that certain gift, there will be an Xmas Craft Sale at the Town Hall in Port Perry on Saturday, December 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There wilI be handcrafts for every taste adpocketbook.
