Because of the Thanksgiving DtRy holi- day on October 12, resi- dents who normally receive garbage pick-up on Mondays are asked to put their garbage out on Tuesday, the foilow- ing day. Baby photo contest The Whitby Jaycettes are sponsoring a fal baby photo contest as a ways and means project for their organization. OnIy the firat 50 snap- shots, 3" x 5", one child per photo, wli be ac- cepted. Babies under' three years old as of December 31, 19Q1 are eligible for ent.ry. Entry forms can be obtained at chartered bainks and Manchester Credit Unions (Whitby and Brooklin). Closing date for entries is Friday, October 23. A cisplay wii be set up ini front of Whitby - Mail Florlsts in the Whitby Mail (Hwy. 2 and Thickson Road) from October 31 until November 10. Voting will be done by the public during mal hours. Containers wil accompany each photo and contributions in each wil be tallied as "votes" by cent value: e.g. one quarter equals 25 votes, $ 1 equals 100 votes. The top three babies with bighest accumu- lated votes wil be presented with Bank Savings Certificates and trophies and the flrst place baby will also receive a special "Iwin- ner's" prize. A presen- tation ceremony wli be held on Tuesday, Nove mber. 17, 7:30 p.m. in the program room cf Whitby Public Library.
