Aida has written a few episodes and directed a few for this series. t has become one of the most popular programs in the history of television. Alan Aida is first an actor, but he is also a writer and director, and at the moment one of the mostenvied persons in Hollywood. He wrote, starred and directed the film The Four Seasons. In this movie you find no man- eating sharks, cars crashing and falling over each other nor any mutilated corpses. Instead you find three normal couples who spenda great deal of 1time together, especially their holidays. t cornes as a great shock to two of the couples when the third decides to break up and the maie haîf of the par- tnership takes up with a much younger woman. The relationship bet- ween them ail is strained to the limit. Every major studio turned down the script, including Umiversal, the company who finally did the film. t has been so, successful from al aspects including the commercial, that the studio has asked Aida to do three more movies, allowing hlm to do any- thing he wants to, pro- viding he keeps within tebdet. He adînits that such an offer is nothing short of being incredible. Alan Aida is a very private man and has his home and family in New York. He com- mutes between home and Hollywood and makes a point of neyer elaborating on his suc- cesses to his friends. He respects the film audience and feels that for the most part they are humans with feelings and intelligen- Personally, I have reflected on the number of people who were part- of the MASH cast and for reasons of their own have left. Most of them are not on the tube today, because they have gone down the tb.A d a1 has%%" enoughrll B.C. guides visit Whitby Members of the Whitby District Girl Guides are presently hosting a few of their counterparts from West Vancouver, British Columbia as part of an exchange program sponsored by the group. The Vancouver visitors arrived last Wednesday evening and during their stay they will go on two tours of Toronto and take trips to Niagara Falls, Black Creek Pioneer Village as well as Whitby's Cullen Gardens and Miniature Village. They will also go on a camping trip and will finish their stay with a trip to the nation's capital - Ottawa. Last Thursday morning, the girl guides were given a tour of the Whitby Municipal Building and stopped off to visit with Mayor Bob Attersley.
