This is the second of what is becoming an annual event and D.I.A.B. chairman Michael Burgess is con- fident that this year's event will surpass'last year 's. The event wiIl get un- der way at 10 a.m. and Brock Street will be closed off between Coîbourne Street in the south and Mary Street in the north. The day wilI start off with the County Town Carnival Parade, spon- sored by the Whitby Jaycees, which will pass right through the down- town core. Other events being scheduled include a boxing demonstration at 1: 30 p. m.; a best legs in western boots contest at 2 p.m.; a roping contest at 2:30 p.m.; 'a best costume (western out- fit) contest at 3:30 p.m. and a dancing exhibition by the Inta-Deja Dance Studio at 4 p.m. The day will also be filled with country music as the Buster Fykes Band performs at il a.m. and the Larry and Dottie Bee Band takes the stage at 1:30 p.m. Other special events include Andy Hathaway's balloons, the Battalion of Incor- porated Militia and "Rocky" - the mech- anical bull. Downtown merchantic will have sidewalk sales, cafes and other interesting displays. "We hope that these dif- ferent activities will have a littie something for everyone," Burgess says. "We (the D.I.A.B.) have put a lot of thought and careful planning into thîs event and are doing everything in our power to make it a good time for everyone.
